A Spatial Terrain for Creative Momentum

The Mouse & Cheese studio challenged us in all the right ways. A young, strategic creative collective whose identity is rooted in movement, collaboration and play—they needed more than an office. They needed a terrain.

The Starting Point:
Brand, Behaviour & Bare Bones

Inspired by their looped logo, we recognized early on that the space couldn’t be linear. It needed to support smooth circulation without interruption, foster collaboration without chaos, and offer openness without sacrificing privacy.

Before exploring form, we first delved into understanding both function and personality. This duality was central to our process and guided every decision we made.

Noise Management

Layered felt panels, fabric-lined storage, and edge treatments were applied to reduce echo and cross-talk. This isn’t soundproofing. It’s sound shaping—preserving energy while ensuring clarity.

Zoning for Creative Workstyles

Rather than segmenting the space with walls, we embedded functional and emotional zoning into the architecture.

In Retrospect

The curved glass wall was our biggest challenge — too essential to drop, too complex to execute easily. The biggest challenge lay in the curved glass walls—an idea central to the spatial language, yet constantly questioned for cost, execution, and practicality. It sat right in the Archideus Journal: too ambitious to be easy, too essential to let go. We navigated it with a series of jugaads—adjusting alignments, working with local fabricators, testing mock-ups—not to dilute the idea, but to protect its essence. The final outcome isn’t a perfect curve, but a resolved one. It holds the brand’s openness and softness exactly where it matters most.
